Pursuant to Section 9.23 of the Unit 2 Memorandum of Understanding:
Employees may be permitted annually to cash out up to eighty (80) hours of accumulated Vacation / Annual Leave as follows:
On or before May 1 of each year, each department head (Director, Executive Officer, etc.) or designee will advise department employees if the department has funds available for the purpose of cashing out accumulated Vacation / Annual Leave. In those departments that have funds available, employees will be advised of the number of hours that may be cashed out, not to exceed eighty (80) hours. Employees who wish to cash out Vacation / Annual Leave must submit a written request during the month of May to the individual designated by the Department Director. Departments will issue cash payments for cashed out Vacation / Annual Leave during the month of June.
CASE encourages you to ask your supervisor if your department, commission, or agency will be participating in the vacation / annual leave cash out benefit this month. Not only will this help determine which departments will allow access to this benefit, but it will also demonstrate to the departments the fact that our members value this benefit and want to take advantage of it.
Please direct any questions or comments regarding this benefit to the CASE office at email@example.com. Please include “2019 Cash Out” in the subject line. This email may not reach all CASE members. Accordingly, CASE encourages you to pass this email along to any of your colleagues who may not have received it. If you are not receiving CASE emails and wish to receive future communications from CASE, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and request to be added to the distribution list.
CASE also encourages you to send responses from your personal email address as opposed to your state email address. Please keep in mind that all responses will be treated as confidential by CASE.
As always, your support of CASE and your colleagues in Bargaining Unit 2 is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely, The CASE Board of Directors
